Chancel Guild
The Chancel Guild is committed to the care of the chancel by maintaining and preparing the altar for Communion. Two members of Chancel are assigned each week to fulfill this function and we rotate the schedule according to the number of members we have. We strive to promote reverence and beauty for worship. Membership is open to all women 18 years of age or older who are communicant members of the congregation. We meet the first Saturday of January, March, April, May, September, October, November and December at 9 a.m.
Chancel Guild is a great way to serve the Lord and also have fellowship with other Ladies from church. We are always happy to have new members. If you are interested in serving on the Chancel Guild, please contact the church office for more information (815) 485.6973.
ALTAR FLOWERS - Fresh flowers are used to adorn the altar as a symbol of life and joy. They are part of the beauty of the creation. Chancel Guild very much appreciates the congregation's support and help in keeping fresh flowers on the altar. You can help by sponsoring an available Sunday. A 2023 Altar Flower Calendar is posted in the glass case hanging on the wall outside the general office. If you would like to reserve a Sunday in memory of a loved one or to honor a special occasion, please fill out a sponsor order sheet and put it along with payment in the Chancel Guild mailbox. The sheets are located on a hook attached to the glass case. If you have any questions, please contact Kay Purnell at [email protected] or (815) 485-9017.
Flowers left in the refrigerator will be disposed of after 1 week.
